Baozi is also known as steamed pork buns or steamed filled buns. Elaine is to show you how to fold baozi at home.
Guys, I have made a video showing the process. And recipe in the video can be found here. Tofu version for picture tutorial can be found here
Prepare the wrapper and the filling. Place the wrapper in your left hand. Place 1 ~2 tablespoon of the filling in the center of your wrapper (depending on the size of the wrapper).
Fix the starting point with the thumb of right hand and begin to fold the edge counterclockwise.
Move the thumb slowly in the process.
Repeat the steps to seal the baozi completely.
Then we have the cute baozi folded.
Thank you for sharing this technique. Blessings from New Zealand.
I am glad it is helpful Jacqueline.
I'm a bit stuck at the moment.
I don't think you have worded your instructions properly and that you could include more pictures or even better. A video to show how you fold baozi, because I find it challenging to follow these instructions.
Thanks for the suggestion, I found it is quite hard for me to describe the steps in words. I will upload a video after the trip to Shanghai. If you cannot make it pretty, just seal them and you are ok with the buns.
hi!! These look amazing. Do you have a link to the wrapper and filling recipes?
You can find the filling here https://www.chinasichuanfood.com/vegan-baozichinese-steamed-buns/

Hi , thanks so much . Really helpful. I live in China but Pls can you post how to make tai bao. Chinese steam bread. Thanks.
I am not very sure about the Tai bao you mentioned here. Do you mean this one? . We call it Gua Bao, it is steamed buns with opens.
Folding the buns is harder than how it looks! I can never fold these cuties right!
Keep trying. Will find your way one day.
