Chinese Snack--coated peanuts with starch and syrup.
  • 300g peanuts
  • 60g cornstarch or sweet potato starch
  • 150g granulated sugar (or more as needed)
  • Half cup of clean water
  1. Stir-fry the peanuts in a wok with slow fire until they are very crisp. (You will hear the pa pa sound during the process). Transfer out and set aside.
  2. Place the cornstarch in a bowl and heat with high fire for 2 minutes in a microwave oven (to remove the raw taste)
  3. Heat the sugar along with water in a wok. Stir consciously until the thin syrup bubbles and there can form a syrup line if you pull the slice up. Stir in the peanuts and make the peanuts well coated with syrup. Gradually add the corn starch, do a quick stir-fry until the peanuts are coated with starch.
  4. Then transfer out and filter the extra starch. Let them cool down, and serve.
Those peanuts need to be stored in an airtight container. And enjoy whenever you want.
